About
Traditionally in this area, boys are sent to school at a very young age while girls are left at home to help with the family. These schools can be comparable to preschool as they are getting an "early start" on their education, however they tend to be all-boy schools. By the time the students reach their first year of public school (ages 6-7) the girls are already at a vast disadvantage due to their lack of a prior education (reading and writing). Our school has been created to narrow the gap and create an equal learning opportunity between young male and females.
The absence of early on education results in many females dropping out of school to peruse a life helping their families. Female seniors are left without basic knowledge of reading or writing and the lack of a taught education. We have created a program to help seniors along side these young girls and give them the early education they missed out.

Our Mission
Our mission provide education for young girls and elders, to fight the illiteracy rates for women in the poor rural areas of Morocco. Our goal is to ensure that young girls get a fair chance at education despite the outdated traditions of male-only schools. In remote areas of Morocco, it is common for boys to start their education at a very young age prior to entering public school. Unfortunately, girls do not get this opportunity or have access to these all-boy "preschools" and, in turn, begin public school at a disadvantage.

Our Vision
Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started our work in 2020, we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch AFD. We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits.
